I am interested in the skin of things, for what is written there, for what is revealed as in a journal. Upon closer examination through the process of electronic scanning it is possible to see what is hidden from plain view, to trace a kind of history of these objects that have been gathered over time and which time has altered. Flowers, leaves and fragments of the natural world cut from their normal context are repositioned on a new canvas.Collectively they can create a narrative. The scarred and pitted metal surfaces that form the background of these prints can be read as etchings. Rust is also a bloom, a flowering, that heralds the gradual decay of all things.
